The house on 9 Cruden street is the client’s first home and was previously a late Georgian Terraced townhouse. Sitting within a conservation area the street is characterised by its traditional features, branding the street on which the building sits on. The brief of the scheme was to design a home that presented large open spaces with a clean and modern setting, while harmoniously coexisting with the preservation of the building’s historic characteristics. The clients described their fondness for rich texture from timber and brick, while also highlighting a desire for clean lines, flowing spaces and natural light.
